Quindi
While the investigation identified numerous links between individuals with ties to the Russian government and individuals associated with the Trump Campaign, the evidence was not sufficient to support criminal charges. Among other things, the evidence was not sufficient to charge any Campaign official as an unregistered agent of the Russian government or other Russian principal.
The investigation established several individuals affiliated with the Trump Campaign lied to the Special Counsel, and to Congress about their interactions with Russian-related individuals...Those lies materially impaired the investigation of Russian interference.
la conclusione è che
The evidence we obtained about the President’s actions and intent presents difficult issues that would need to be resolved if we were making a traditional prosecutorial judgement. At the same time, if we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the president clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards however we are unable to reach that judgment. Accordingly while this report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.
can of worms da cui Trump, pur twittando 'GAME OVER' su sfondo di Game of Thrones, non esce proprio pulitissimo. Tant'è che:
When Sessions told the President that a Special Counsel had been appointed, the President slumped back in his chair and said, ‘Oh my God. This is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I’m fucked.’
