Acquistare id significa garantirsi un paio di IP illustri e, soprattutto, tecnologia all'avanguardia. Penso sia stata principalmente quest'ultima cosa a spingere Bethesda all'acquisto.

In parte concordo. La ID alla fin della fiera rivoluzionò il mondo dei videogiochi creando un genere, ma poi si è fermata li. L'unica cosa che è innegabile è il fatto che sono dei programmatori di motori 3D con i contro caxxi. Il loro ID Tech 5, sviluppato per il prossimo Rage, pare un motore molto versatile e potente. Quindi, in definitiva, credo che Betsheda benificerà moltissimo nello sviluppo dei titoli a venire e forse, finalmente, i loro PG non pattineranno più come in Oblivion e Fallout 3.

E' la società che controlla Bethesda ad aver acquistato id. Le due software house hanno quindi lo stesso padrone.
Sui possibili benefici per noi gamer, potrebbero esserci per via di una più che probabile condivisione di conoscenze.
