Cliff Bleszinski took to Twitter this morning to announce BlueStreak, described as a free-to-play sci-fi PC arena shooter. The game is being published with the help of Nexon, a South Korean company that has an established history of working in the free-to-play sphere through games like MapleStory and Combat Arms.

The announcement of BlueStreak comes after several months of relative quiet from Bleszinski and his newly formed team at Boss Key. Bleszinski left Epic Games in 2012 after a long tenure with the company, and previously had declared that he wouldn’t be involved in any way with the new Gears game being developed by Black Tusk.

As of now, there’s no info or images connected to BlueStreak. Given Bleszinski’s description of the game, we can safely assume Boss Key’s BlueStreak has nothing to do with the similarly named Blue Streak.

Il format f2p e' probabilmente l' unico in cui al giorno d' oggi un arena shooter puo' sopravvivere, e con il successo di modelli commerciali come quello di dota 2 che non limitano l' accesso al gameplay c'e' speranza.
Poi e' stato usato il termine "Arena shooter" dunque stanno implicitamente puntando ad un utenza che vive di skill e competizione, si sparerebbero in un piede se iniziassero a vendere armi e perks.

Beh, la partnership coi sud coreani non è casuale, quella è la patria degli esports, credo voglia puntare al creare un fenomeno di massa in quel mercato che latita di giochi sparacchini.
Ci riuscirà? La vedo dura sinceramente.

Ci riesca o no io mi accontento del fatto che fra questo e il nuovo UT c'e' movimento nel settore degli skill based shooters.
A parte qualche scintilla qui e' li dato che non gioco a CS gli shooter competitivi sono un genere che per me e' morto da anni.
